What Coolant 997C2S or Pure Water????
Discussion
The coolant on my 997 C2S (2005) seems low.
Can generic (Mobil) be used or am I better to use pure water until I can get it looked at on Monday? The Mobil detail does not say it CAN't be used but I have read on forums that Porsche has something specific..??

If it where mine,I would top it up with correct antifreeze or maybe vw if you cant get the proper stuff, or some deionised water if you cant find either, then get the car looked at asap, it shouldn't lose any coolant!,so get problem sorted and a total refresh of the correct coolant as I am led to believe old coolant will have deteriorated and will not be doing its proper job..

Just add distilled water. I'm not sure if the Mobil stuff is compatible with the Porsche stuff or not. Since you are going to have the car looked at come Monday if the coolant tests low on anti-freeze you can have some added or since the car is a 2005 you could just have the old stuff drained and the cooling system filled with fresh blend of Porsche anti-freeze and distilled water. I like to have this done every 4 years or so. Helps keep the car's cooling system in good condition. Can generic (Mobil) be used or am I better to use pure water until I can get it looked at on Monday?
