A turbo is faster than the latest and greatest RS
Just depends what you are after, if it's lap times the turbo S wins.
Be great to see a 991 turbo S ring time on cup 2's
It's quite telling that the RS and a Turbo S share the same laptime round Anglesey - RS on Cup 2s, Turbo S on P Zeros...Just depends what you are after, if it's lap times the turbo S wins.

for me, the 991 Turbo S is the most impressive thing about Porsche right now
a car which is that comfortable, that practical, that you can use every single day and put 2 small people in the back seats too
yet it beats the RS and GT3 into a cocked hat at their own game (not to mention Ferrari's trackday hero) yet still manages to be engaging and fun in a way not normally associated with the Turbo
that said, the new Carrera ring time is mighty .. incredible how quick its become without massively swelling its BHP ... the 991 chassis moved the game on so much

That is the quandary for Porsche
Makes you wonder if this is why we haven't seen a 991 GT2 yet. It'd have to be RWD, and ideally quicker than the Turbo S. I reckon if Porsche release a 991 GT2 they will offer it as manual only and aim it as a 'bit of a drivers car'. jackal said:

I would argue the turbo (and turbo S) are now pretty redundant. The new turbo Carrera S now offers a level of performance for the road that is more than sufficient, any more power is pretty superfluous. Even on the track joe bloggs won't get anywhere near the 7.34 ring time it's able to perform.a car which is that comfortable, that practical, that you can use every single day and put 2 small people in the back seats too

it's interesting to see what they'll do - especially considering the 'turbo' models have traditionally had the highest profit margins jackal said:

I think we reached that point many many years ago.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
