Crankshaft pulley washer
Discussion
Hi, some help please - Anyone else had problems sourcing the correct washer (E0451) for the crankshaft pulley bolt? Purchased online from a known TVR parts supplier, but the outer circumference is about 1mm too large as it doesn't seat cleanly against the damper, and the inner circumference is about 2mm too large, with the head of the bolt just barely in contact.
If you're 'playing' with the crankshaft pulley make sure you check that the woodruff key slot in the pulley is actually the correct size for the key that's fitted.
Mine wasn't (it was larger than the key in the crank) which resulted in the pulley moving and wearing down the nose of the crankshaft = engine rebuild!!!
Colin Apps (at TVRSSW) does have some 'stepped' keys to solve this issue - rare problem but not unknown......
