BMW 530i Sport Touring (E39)

I've just bought this to replace an RS4 Avant as my daily driver (with a big chunk of change!). It is an auto, has just over 100,000 miles, black leather and is in lovely condition inside and out. The previous owner was a real enthusiast who addressed most of the common E39 issues, and had also put 12 months MOT on as well as doing an Inspection 2 service last month. I was also pleased to see 4 good Eagle F1 tyres on properly refurbished wheels as well. Very sharp eyed people may spot that the wheels are staggered Style 66's from a saloon.
It wasn't a super cheap E39 by any means, but I was prepared to pay a little more for one in the colour I wanted (Stirling Grey) in excellent condition with good history from a sensible seller. Forgot to add that he'd also had a complete front end respray done last year to get rid of stone chips and the quality of it appears to be excellent. The only bit of corrosion is a small area of bubbling under the fuel filler cap which I will get sorted out soon.
It drove beautifully back to Kent from Bristol last week, the auto box was very smooth and overall I'm really chuffed with it.
I'm going to get some more pictures when the weather cheers up.

Thanks chaps. So it's Stirling Silver not grey? I am learning here! I agree it's a great colour, in the evening when I took the photo above it was almost looking bronze in the fading sunlight.
The black grille is the original one sprayed satin black done at the same time as the front end respray. The seller did it to match the rest of the black trim on the Sport spec. I am in two minds on it at the moment - it does seem to suit the car and the body colour, but I do also normally like my cars to appear standard and appreciate a small amount of chrome as on our other BMW's:
So it may change if I can source an OEM chrome grille.

Otherwise, apart from the bubbling under the filler flap no real plans for it other keeping it in excellent shape. I may treat it it to a professional detail from my mate at KDS Keltec as I have found that you reap the benefits of this for many months if not years afterwards, with bodywork that looks much better and washes quicker and easier than before. I may do this soon actually while I have the money from the RS4 and before my wife spends it on double glazing or other such fripperies.

Gave it a wash today and fitted a pair of DVD screens for the kids. Our main family vehicle is a converted LWB Transporter which has a drop-down 15" DVD monitor in the back linked to the headunit, and the first thing my 3 year old said when he got in the BMW was "where's the television?". Previously not something I would have entertained but they are useful for long journeys, and for learning the Postman Pat theme tune word perfect - which is bound to come in handy one day.
When the previous owner had the front end resprayed he fitted an M5 grille, which does without the extra horizontal slats of the Sport bumper.

Unfortunately the 'before' pic is too big to attach. It wasn't really bad, and hadn't broken through the paint yet - just a 2x3 cm patch of paint bubbling where water collects.
