Launch Control question...
Discussion
So I finally gave my launch control a go at the weekend in my 997 GTS, and perhaps I am doing something wrong, but for some reason I seem to constantly get wheel spin that delays the launch. Am I missing something? This is not to say I didnt love it, the launching was lots and lots of fun.
Yup, I've found this even on my turbo S. Especially if the tyres are cold.
I have a feeling that this is actually designed into the system, otherwise you'd have Too much instant jolt going through the drive train system.
I've found a better result from building the revs just below the required amount that triggers the launch control, the car then bites better as soon as you lift off the brake pedal.

Interesting - never done this on my GTS yet - I had a few goes in the 991 RS last week (incredible) and I was just told to brake literally bury the throttle then let go..it has I think a fail safe that unless you do it after 3 seconds it cancels out?..could be you waiting a bit too long?..just a thought.

Cheers for the replies everyone. Do you guys (or girls) turn off PSM when you launch?
used launch control a few times in the 991c4 last night and use it regularly on the 981cgts. no need to disable psm. sport+ on, left foot on brake, right foot smack the go pedal, wait a sec, let go, laugh as the other cars disappear in your mirrors. rinse&repeat
