Lose and you run the risk of more points and a heavier fine....although in reality the fine will only be increased between 50-100% plus court costs....at that speed, even if you challenge it and are found guilty; 3 points will probably only what's awarded.

Doh! 42mph on a dual carraigeway!! I'm surprised people can even breathe at those terrifying speeds.
Fighting this is a win-win.
At worse you still get you the points but useful court system experience for very little additional cost, and jam up the tax system a bit.
