Driving down the M67 last night, from Glossop, and just where it turns into 3 lanes was a police car parked on a raised ramp on the left side of the road. Obviously I slowed down (think I was doing 85), but I didn't see any camera in the window (driver was nearest me), and it was dark.

Should be ok?

There for 'presence' and the ability to 'react' if need be.

If he was monitoring speeds, it will be with a pro-laser style device and would have come after you and stopped you if he wasn't impressed.

In fact, having used the M67 since it opened, I've never seen plod thereon.

Have they just realised it's there?

They can't use VASCAR on approaching cars in the dark, can they?

If a measured distance between bridges has been done and they can be seen

There were loads of Police vehicles patrolling the A1 yesterday between the Hatfield tunnel and junction 9. I was cruising along at about 85 when I saw a Police 4x4 with the blue lights on rapidly approaching from the rear. I pulled over to the middle lane and it just flew past.

Phew!

I alos came across two Police bikes coming the other way when I was having some fun on the A507.

I was thinking the same, never seen police on that motorway, but on my way East during the afternoon I did spy a Volvo patrol car cruising up to the roundabout at the eastern end. I can't remember the model of car on my way back during the evening, although I'd guess it might have been a Volvo.

Its not surprising though is it, that roundabout is bloody good fun to tear around, and once you've exited and you're onto the motorway, its usually clear, and you can blast down it at serious speed (downhill too).
