So I finally did it and picked up my 996 C4S from the brief owner on Monday. As the gundo mod sports exhaust roared you could see what true love looks like. Despite him soon getting a GT4 Cayman you could tell that he was sorry to see the girl go.

This was to be my first proper drive in a Porsche so I took it easy. Around the M25 I was slightly confused as the mpg was better than my truck. Onto the M40 and I opened her up a bit more and the smile couldn't get off my face. Turning off to head up the A43 towards Northants you have some lovely curves and some interesting roundabouts. Now I was laughing.

This machine is so utterly analogue. Secretly I am sure it wants to kill me but in the meantime she told me everything going on below her. The short shift gearbox was possibly the best I've ever experienced outside a Caterham 7 and dare I say a Mazda MX5. The throttle response is staggering and as you drift up the rev range the bellow entices you to more (changed up well before the red line - I can't imagine ever needing to take it above 7000 revs). The turn in and steering in general is just sublime. I could go on...

Suffice to say I am madly in love. I cannot wait to detail her (need some advice on a dark coloured polish) so that I can take some more pics of her (pictures on previous thread).

Wow.

Great News.

One of the best looking 911's the 996 C4S.

Colour, spec and pictures?

If it is black, use Poor Boys Black Hole.
Enjoy the motor - epic choice

Really nice car the 996 C4S and lovely noise. One of my favourite modern day classics.

I think all C4S have PSM, so it's actually trying not to kill you :-)

One of the many reasons why I like the 996 so much; it's old enough to capture the classic feel, but new enough to not have too much "character" (scary handling)!

Good for you nothing like enjoying every mile in a new (to you) Porsche, really like the C4S may have another look for one but as always good ones are hard to find. Looked at a couple but unlike yours they were less than described unfortunately.
