Recently bought a W211 E63 , downside was it only came with 1 key . Asked the dealers how much for a replacement they said £234 !! for a new smart key.
So goes into the dealer to pay and order the key today , only to be told that because mine has keyless it would be another £60 to programme it ?!?!?
Has anyone else had this ??? I think it is ridiculous they charge you such and amount then want more money because my car has keyless , should it not come from Mercedes all ready to use ?

Erm! Should come with 2 keys. Merc should have got a new one as part of the package. Sounds fishy

Ah, OK. You didn't mention anything other than 'dealer' above.

In that case, the cost is your own as you bought privately. Merc are not known for their cheap after sales and you have a bought an AMG! Suck it up chap.

Many cars that are not keyless will still need the new key pairing to the car. Dealers usually charge for it and £60 is not even at the high end.

I'd suggest you ensure that any 'stray' keys are eliminated from the car at the same time.

I paid £235 about 4 years ago, so that seems about right.

That is standard MB procedure and pricing.
If you sweet talk them then they will 'pair' the key to the keyless go module for free in some cases.

I paid similar for a volvo key ,and similar for my wifes boxster ,so although a rip off,it is normal.
