Chaps,

I have a 1993 LWB RRC.

Its had an air suspension delete, replacing with standard shocks all round.

Ride height is pretty standard.

It currently has 205/80 R16's on the front with 235/70 R16 on the rear.

Can I replace fronts with 235/70 R16's without it rubbing?

Advice is most appreciated.

Cheers

What's wrong with OE?? wink

If you go wider, you'll have to adjust the end stops on the steering.

Its nice to have the same size all round and then I can swop front to back in the future?

Also, from what I understood, the overall size is not that different between 235/70 R16 and 205/80 R16?

Please do correct me if im wrong?

I don't want to have to mess about with the steering.

Cheers

235/70/16 is a very similar diameter and circumference to the 205/80/16, but is obviously 30mm wider, so it may touch.
I have 235s on mine and have no problems, but I don't know if the previous owner made any adjustments to allow for them.

Going to 235 does seem a common upgrade. I don't know if there are more tyres available in that size these days?

235s should be fine, I didn't have a problem. 255 will rub on full lock but its adjustable obviously.
Not entirely sure how I managed to be on 255 but they work fine and the OF in period used them.
205 is OEM so probably the best option.

Cheers for the info guys, think I'll stick with 205's on the front, I've had a look and there is plenty of choice and not too expensive.

235 should be fine but 255 will definitely mean you lose turning circle.

Personally, I think 235s make the steering less pleasant than 205. My preference would be to standardise by swapping the rear 235s for 205s in due course rather than upping the fronts.
