I have a V8 Vantage 2008 and all was fine with the radio and now it seems like the reception has gone "bad." Basically if I tune in to any normal stations such as Radio 1, Capital, Local Stations the reception is very poor, it loses its signal easily and just doesn't hold that station. It was fine to start but now I have this issue. I have checked fuses and all seems fine. I have checked settings and can't see anything that would cause the problem. Any ideas? Desperate.com......

Hi there mate, I have had the same issue recently, so as ever I gave the problem to the great guys at Bridge Mill in Macclesfield, as usual they quickly identified the cause, a dodgy bit of harness in the boot which connects to the antenna/aerial in my DB9, it had worn.

hi... ok thanks on the connections suggestion.... yes I have bluetooth it seems fine when I just turn the car on, as soon as I move, literally a yard then the reception breaks up, when I come to a standstill, its still poor.

Hi I had a similar problem but the radio was ok up to 50mph the reception went and a speaker cut out replacing the Bluetooth relay fixed the problem and relatively easy to do as recommended in the thread below. The only bit I did not do was fully remove the old relay as it meant removing more of the car and I could not be bothered and there is loads of space for the new and old. You might find as suggested in the thread to bang on the floor where the relay is to see if this cuts out the radio.

Do you happen to have a USB convertor in your 12v power socket? Or anything else plugged into it? I had the same problem, turned out to be this. Spent a bit more on a replacement, one that is a bit more insulated, problem solved

hmmm good point. I have just fitted a split from a power supply for to feed a speed camera which uses a USB power socket. I think I will disconnect that first.. see how things go. Then I can review the bluewooth module if that doesnt work. I dont drive the car often so will update once I have tried both.

thanks for everyones sugegstions and help. At the weekend, I removed the fuse to the additional lighter socket I added to run my speed camera and everything was fine. As simple as that.... guess I am on the hunt now to work out the best way to power this device instead. tahnks again.
