You haven't bought another have you??? (MX5 content)

Bought myself this on thursday.

1995 Eunos Roadster with 50,000miles and little to no rust (from what i could see anyway). It has receipts for new mohair roof and rust proofing and it cost me £1700. After having a Mk2 and Mk3 it feels alot more raw and interesting. It has some goodies on it which i wouldve added - braces and stainless steel exhaust.

I'd have a drive of both. The mk2 would be easier to live with day to day, ive got a 5year old merc barge to do that job. This is purely for getting lost for an hour on my own every now and then so the rattles etc dont matter.

I have a new M3 to play about in but I want a RWD car to practice sliding in that isn't going to kill me at the first chance. The M3 with no TC on is like that. I've done some car control stuff with it but it's very hard to catch once it goes, I want to use an MX5 or similar to get the feel for it.

A 1.8 mk1 is what you should get. Make sure the alignment is ok, and you'll be sliding about all over the place.
The 1.6 is more than capable but the little extra torque from the 1.8 makes it a bit easier. I think I'm right in saying all 1.8 imports had a torsen LSD fitted too.

Just seen your thread on the M3... Very nice. To be honest im not one for sliding about so i cant really give and advice. I have tried teasing it by booting it abit mid corner but it just grips.. Will probably play around abit once i get used to it 100%.

You just reminded me to say.. I am aware that it currently has one brand of budgets on front and one on the back and needs to go in to get the alignment done once they are binned. Once its had that done i will have abit more confidence in it.

It didnt look that pretty when i picked it up, scrubbed up well after a wash and wax and an hour with a touch up pen

Took it to a fun day at a kids adventure place today that organise stuff for disabled kids etc.. My mate and his dad called this morning knowing that i had just got it and said to come along..

The little MX5 was getting more attention then i thought! Pop up headlights are the coolest thing on the planet to young kids...
