Looks like something raped a Fiat Mirafiori, but on reflection also has something of a Bristol look.

Interesting.

And so annoying, as I've seen a pic of it before but can't remember what it is! Is it a grp rebodied Range Rover chassis by one of the late 70s specialists?

certainly got a look of the Range Rover roofline, Marina door handles also fitted to Range Rovers but at the same time has the looks of some eastern european version of a Fiat

OP if you have any more pics taken from another angle could you post them plz :-)

Have had time to have another look at it, some parts look recognisable from period 70s cars but I could be totally wrong. (Anyone else spot various components, maybe . . . ?).

Still think it's grp body based on a separate 4x4 chassis, and it's quite a big car.

Aah, good call but checked them out earlier too, nothing obvious unless I've missed something. Trident and various other period companies showing nothing so far.

edit, it might turn out to be some type of Jeep Wagoneer derivative from Brasil or Argentina or somewhere. Who knows?!!!

Still interested.

How on earth did they get a RR chassis and axels to sit so low?

How do you mean? Bodywork can be adapted round a chassis.

The scuttle vents suggest Land Rover rather than Range Rover, that looks like a S1 Range Rover interior and it's only 2 doors, the roof and rear glazing look Range Roverish. Just noticed its LHD too, the steering wheel and scuttle are very high which again suggests Land Rover not Range Rover. LHD rules out Australia.

A few more clues,

Only four were ever built.

It is not land rover or range rover based, but is a 4x4.

It is aluminium bodied.

I had never even heard of this model, although the company name is pretty famous....

I think the stars and stripes in the background might be a bigger clue, along with the non-UK plate on the Austin 7 next to whatever-the-hell-that-fugly-beige-thing-is.

Yup but big heavy chassis, above a pair of solid axles must intrude into the passenger compartment.
