The RAC spokesman said this morning on BBC breakfast;

"It is within our gift as motorists to drive differently."

He was reffering to RAC statistics, that there is a speeding epidemic. He did not attempt to suggest that now there are so many speed cameras, that people are speeding more to make up for them.

Could you gift numpties everywhere by driving differently?

I would suggest that there is no more speeding than there ever was, it's just that there are now so many scameras and talivans that more people are getting caught.

And don't forget that there are now more lower limits than ever before - most of them set way below the 85th percentile. That means they take more concentration to stick to.

Here in Oxon we have an absolute rash of new limits - with plenty more coming this year.
