It sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately, I remember a few years ago when there was a feature on a motoring programme where someone produced a copy of the 159 Alfetta. It used 2 2litre twin cams which should have been exquisite, but actually sounded rather rough.
Is it possible to mount the 2 units together to produce proper V12 firing intervals and channel it all through a common exhaust?

I didn't find anyone doing it . . .

V8 Montreal in a 70s/80s GTV:

"Nel 1977, l'Autodelta, su richiesta del distributore tedesco della Casa di Arese, realizzò la "GTV 2.6 V8", che montava il motore della Montreal. "

Might it be easier to source an existing italian V12. Some of the older (less popular) lambos are sub 20k, even less in LHD. Can't be too pricey for an engine.

Rebuilding costs are then massive and have to be done by specialists.

The V12 Alfa GTV can be done by Joe Regular from Alfa Central . . .
