Land Rover Experience. Where's best?
Discussion
I get a free half day Land Rover Experience half day with my new DS. I never took up the offer when I got my previous Landy so I don't want to miss out this time.
Thought I might make a mini break out of it. I am based near Newcastle but I'm happy to travel and as I say make a little holiday of it.
So of the locations in the UK, where's best? Also on the complimentary half day, what happens?
Thanks in advance.

I've only ever been to one location so can't compare it with others, but I did a full day in a Discovery 4 at the East of England centre at Rockingham Castle. It was a fantastic venue with a brilliant natural landscape to drive about in. Highly recommended!
That said, visiting either Solihull or Halewood would be cool as you could combine the drive with a factory tour, which are absolutely wonderful.

If you are interested to see how your Disco Sport is made, then Halewood is great, and the (albeit small) track is especially designed around the smaller cars like the Evoque and Disco Sport. You can make a weekend of it staying in Liverpool as well.
If it's purely off-roading you want then Eastnor is the one, plain and simple, but then there is less in the area to do in terms of making a weekend of it.

Eastnor Castle is very pretty and a nice place for a weekend break. The Land Rover National was held there this year.
Just remember though, these experience days are to 'demonstrate' the cars. The off roading is really fairly tame and always with a hardcore solid base, so loads of grip.
We didn't exactly stick the LR Experience courses though.

Don't forget that for your average novice, even the 'tame' tracks can be pretty terrifying!! Ultimately though, it depends what you're there for...
...and how well you drive!
If you're there on a freebee, half day 'Complimentary All Terrain Experience', you'll stick to the easier tracks . However, if you've booked a full-day, this isn't about 'demonstrating' the cars... It's about teacking you to drive off-road. If you pick things up quickly and show you have the car under control, by the end of the day you can be doing some quite challenging stuff. Book yourself in for the 'Advanced' course and you'll be tackling some very interesting stuff.

I have done Eastnor and Skipton. Skipton is much more compact but plenty there to show the car off - hotel next door does great food. I have a voucher and am planning to go to Skipton again
It's not next door to The Coniston Hotel anymore. It's moved about 5 miles away300bhp/ton said:

Avoid Luton Hoo - pretty boring day out with no real water action.....I would have love to see the car wade.
Plenty of deep fords around the area if you want to have a go yourself.
