I have a friend who swears by acupuncture. I suffer various ailments, nothing serious just things like allergies. Any one have any experiences of it, can it genuinely offer cures or is it hocus pocus?

Not sure that there's much science to it, I find it very relaxing after treatments and have a really good nights sleep

Some people do swear by it, so probably worth trying if you have an issue. I couldn't give a fk if it's placebo if it were to fix a problem that otherwise you're stuck with. Or on principle would you endure the pain because "it's just placebo". biggrin

Acupuncture can be very effective for conditions that affect the nervous / immunological systems in the body.

Psoriasis is why I tried acupuncture where 'western' medicine had failed. Basically I went from being covered head to toe to being completely clear in just four sessions.

Not much good for a broken leg, but for allergies definitely with a go.

I would recommend an acupuncturist who has had proper training in China and not a GP who has just done a 12 week course.
