First time Porsche owner

I've done it after approx 6 months of thinking, researching and looking I have bought my first Porsche
2006 997 Carrera S Artic Silver.
Only had it since the weekend had a few drives and already addicted to it.

I am looking to cosmetically enhance it but need front end stone chips and scratches sorting first aswell as lobster claws refurbed (thinking about gloss black)

What is the advice about getting a front end respray how good would it be with Artic Silver car and any recommendations North Manchester area.
My biggest concern with silver is colour matching and blending also there are stone chips edges of the doors really do not want to go to the expense of having front end and sides done.

Welcome to Pork ownership- great looking car. I can't help with recommending a bodyshop, but if you find out who who local opc use there shouldn't be any problems with matching.

Hi Mate well done with purchase,Most Porsche independent dealers will have good body shops as the cars have to be spot on. Just shop around some of your local indys cos most of there cars have been front end painted as these things are chip magnets. Black wheels Rule and get em powder coated they last longer..

That looks stunning - for my money, that style of wheels is the very nicest to grace the 997.

My own 996 is the same colour and I've pondered if/how to get the stone chips tarted up. The local car detailing 'expert' reckons silver is horrendously tricky to blend in and match, but I'd love to hear otherwise...

My first 996 (late '98) was silver and was expertly repaired by chips-away. It was a huge dink in rear wing about 20mm x 5mm.

The repair was completely invisible both to the naked eye and to street lighting.

Sadly, I think the quality of the repair is entirely down to the skill of the franchisee, so I would try to get a personal (and up-to-date) reference!

Also, for a top wheel refurb, I've used http://www.exelwheels.co.uk

They are brilliant. They use Lepsons in Kent. Exel will fit loan wheels to your car and will take yours down to Lepsons.

Just picked her up after having wheels refurbished gone for full gloss black AWR in Bury have done a great job.

Decided not to have front end respray yet but still looking to get the chips repaired so any recommendations will be greatly received.

How bad is the paint chips...if you can touch them in yourself have a look for local car paint supplier, the one near to me takes a colour spectrophotometer reading from your car and mixes a perfect match for the paint. They charge £5 for a touch-up pen mine is Guards Red and its spot on.
