Side exhaust repair

Hi All,
I have a quantum xtreme and the side exhaust has started to rattle from the area catalyst. The exhaust is in one section with the cat in the fwd part and the damping material in the back section
I had the back section recently adjusted by a local st. steel fabrication company so I can re-pack it (£80 cash!). Has anyone tried to repair such an exhaust system? Looking at the cost of a complete system, the repair is going to much more cost effective.

If you think the CAT is breaking up then buy a new one online and take the car back to that local garage and have him cut the old one out and weld the new one in.
Don't forget even the dead CAT is worth money.

and got a local st,steel fabrication company to cut open the original and weld it in for £100 :-)

Looks better than before and the original cat in there looks really crap - it looked like a a bundle of wire (that had come loose!)
