7p per 100g!!!!

I get to work early after my daily swim and usually have a bowl of cereal at my desk. I'm not fussy so buy whatever is on special offer. The local Tesco have the price of the item and then a price per 100g which is very useful for a tightwad like me.

Those posh mueslis are often 50-60p per 100g. Kellogg's stuff and proper Weetabix etc are around 30-35p. Then you have Tesco own brand and branded stuff on special offer at 20-25p. That's what I normally buy.

So browsing this morning, and suddenly it leaps out at me, Tesco own brand Maple and Pecan crunch, 7p per 100g. 35p for a 500g box. Not sure if it was an error, but I bought 4 boxes and got away with it. Should keep me going for bloody ages.

Little things like that make life worth living!

I use Lidl's, cant remember the exact price but it's something similar. Cant eat cheaper if made poverty style with just water!

As you seem to be in the know, any idea why they have stopped stocking the small tie handle sandwich bags? You can still get tie handle ones in medium and you can get foldover ones and resealable ones in small but I prefer the small tie handle ones.

I was going to start a topic to see who could find the cheapest and more expensive "per 100g" items but thought I'd get get laughed out of here
