Hi All,

I am after a pair of front brake calipers for my 2004 Vauxhall Monaro CV8.

The reason for this is because when I took the car to the garage for a brake fluid change it appears the are stuck and the mechanic is concerned that he may brake them in the process so I need a set as a precaution. Vauxhall do not have them in stock and they are on back order with no ETA.

Does anyone have a pair they would sell me?

Thanks,

Matt

Better still, thought I saw some VXR ones on there yesterday. Good upgrade if you don't want to go big-brake.
Unless you're keeping stock....

You'd think with so many photos...even they'd be able to count only 2 ! lol

Unless they're counting both calipers...mmm dummies

Thanks for the replies everyone.

The ones on eBay are only for the right but I need left as well. Not a mechanic so no idea what the difference between 2 and 4 pot is?

Would the VXR versions fit onto a a standard CV8? Assume I would need to change the brakes as well?

Thanks again.

6.0 Ro VXR calipers/discs good upgrade for standard CV8's woeful stoppers, especially if you don't want/need expense of big brake kits from AP/Wortec.

That's what I've done to mine and the difference is quite noticeable for normal road driving (the standard ones really are that bad - far too small for such a powerful heavy car). As far as I know, the VXR calipers are still only a sliding caliper design, but they bolt straight on (as others have said, you will also need the VXR discs as the contact area is much bigger). You may also need a slightly longer brake hose (I think on the rears) as the connector for the caliper sits slightly differently due to it being larger.

I've got a complete set of 6.0 VXR brakes that I took off my 2004 CV8 when I put AP's on. They are pretty grubby and the discs would need a light skim, but they are an improvement over the standard brakes. PM me if you're interested smile
