I've been delighted with how non-rattly my GTS is... until today. This afternoon, something has started rattling / buzzing when I am on anything but the smoothest road surface. It's coming from the passenger dash area.

Immediately before the rattle started, I opened and closed the door, opened and closed the glove box and closed the right-hand cup holder.

I may have to enlist wifey to rattle spot, but are there any "usual suspects" in the area described?

Its possibly the rear view mirror, when your driving along hold the casing on it and if it stops you know you have a common problem. There are a few threads on 6speedonline about it. The clips inside the mirror get weak and rattle over time, you can fix but it looks like a pain!

Same here, mine actually seems to come from the passenger seat. When the other half is sat in it no rattle, but when it's empty I get rattle galore. OPC can't find anything and I've not really pushed them hard enough to resolve.

I've experienced this noise before and found it to be the routing of the passenger seatbelt causing it to rattle against the seat frame. When a passenger is sat in the seat and the belt being used no rattle. Found the best cure to lean over and slide the seat forward slightly which also stops it. Hope this helps!

OP - sorry can't help with your noise as never experienced it in my GTS.

Thanks for that, the passenger seat is normally quite far back to try and match the drivers seat. I'll shift it forward when it's empty.

I hope I am not speaking too soon, but it seems to have gone.

It was either:

1. The rear view mirror, which did have a buzz as I tapped it but which quietened down with a squeeze.

2. The passenger seat which was a long way back.
