BOTTOM BALL JOINTS Again!!!
Discussion
Hi all.
I know this subject has been the source of much debate but I wondered if anyone could clarify a point for me?
When I had my S3 I bought new top and bottom ball joints for it after researching them on PH and being aware of the articulation issue of some aftermarket components.
As the original LEMFORDER items were no longer available, in the end I bought Delphi (Lockheed) parts. The top balljoint being TC125 and the lower part no. TC 76.
I still have these and wondered if, when the time comes, will they be ok to use on the Chimaera and also if any of you have fitted these parts successfully?
Thanks in advance, Chris.

Just to answer my own question!
My previous Chimaera had developed a "squeak" which turned out to be a ball joint. The gaiter had a small split and had obviously let water in.
As the owner needed the car on the road he fitted the balljoints I had previously bought for the "S". Part number DELPHI TC 76. I am pleased to confirm that they fitted perfectly and work well with no articulation issues. They are about £10 each and DELPHI is part of Lockheed which I have always assumed were a good make.
I do wonder if some of the issues are caused by some makes of shock absorber having different extended lengths to the original Bilsteins which are still on the car?
Hope this is of use to someone, Chris.
