DB9 Parking sensors

Does anybody have any experience with the parking sensors? Just had the car serviced by a main agent and he tells me that the left hand rear parking sensor needs to be replaced at a cost of £360. The sensors stopped working just before the service. When I bought the car( a September 06) one of the sensors didn't work and it was replaced under warranty, now out of warranty, the car has done about 7000miles since the sensor was replaced 2 years ago and rarely goes out in the wet, cant believe it needs a new one...any ideas?

Make sure it isn't gunked up with polish etc.
