My site CSS contains syntax "cursor: hand" for the style
"navOver". The mouseover event for the table cells is:

onMouseOver="this.className='navOver'

In IE, the pointer changes to a hand, but it doesn't work in Firefox. Any ideas why???

In my experience firefox actually does stylesheets correctly, where as IE just does it's own thing...

Have you validated your CSS?

That might help.

Actually just looked at this and I think you need

cursor: pointer

Depending on which flavour of html your page conforms to, onMouseOver should be onmouseover (no CaPs)...

A follow-up question along similar lines - if you look at my site www.minispecial.com there is a news ticker at the top of the page. In IE, it stretches across the full width of the table, but it doesn't in Firefox. It's an Iframe set to 100% of the width of the table.

Any ideas on this one?

Cheers for the guideance!

Are the contents of the iframe wide enough to fit to 100% of the table width? Should the contents stretch to the table width? What "css command" leads you to believe the iframe should stretch to the table width?

(It's normally IE that does it wrong and Firefox that does it right...)

Here's the syntax:

{tr}
{td colspan="3" valign="top"}{iframe id="minispecialifrm" name="minispecialifrm" width="100%" height="22" src="./ticker/minispecial.htm" SCROLLING="no" FRAMEBORDER="0" border=0}{/iframe}{/td}
{/tr}

The file "minispecial.htm" is just a band of background colour set to 100% within a DIV tag (style setting used to set width to 100%

Edit to add - there is nothing wrong with the code on your index page - or the ticker page...

I think tja is right - if you load your ticker on it's own;

www.minispecial.com/ticker/minispecial.htm

Whilst the page does take up 100% of the browser, Firefox only renders the actual ticker is as big as it needs to be - that is as long as the longest line of text.

I wonder if you had a longer line in the news ticker, if it would then make it larger?

This doesn't help you much however, unless you always have a longer line in there to keep it looking the way you want. Bodge it and scarper...
