I want a bike that will give me all the laughs that my K2 GSXR750 gives me on the road but I also want to start track daying in the summer.. It won't be my only means of transport as I have an old h reg hi-lux pick up. what would you go for? and what do you ride currently?

The best deal I have found on a non import black ZX10 for £8650 and also a black 04 YZF R1 for £8295 does anyone now if these can be bettered??

Apparently the new GSX-R 750 gives you the size of a 600 and almost the same performance as a 1000. You might want to give that a go.

What about a naked bike? Triumph, Aprilla or Benelli?

I currently own a GSXR750 - but I'm looking for more balls out performance and handling, also the bikes like Benelli, Aprilia and so on seem to cost alot more and I'm already squeezing my budget.. thats why the Jap models are more appealing on the power to cost ratio.

I've got an 04 R1, but have ridden the ZX10 as well. The ZX10 is phyiscally a lot smaller, and has a more potent engine. It feels lik ti has a short wheelbase, and will corner as if on rails. Th stock suspension is very hard until you get used to it. Personally, I couldn't tell what the back wheel was doing - which resulted in crashing the bike (it wasn't mine!)

I've seen both bikes for around 7300 as imports. Why do you not want an import. The waranty is EU wide and a dealer is obligated to cover it - though he may not want to!! Saves you dropping a b*ll*ck when you either drop it or sell it....

With either bike, I'd suggest running as long a wheelbase as your chain/sprocket combo will allow. It'll slow the steering. but the bike will be more stable. let us know what you decide to go for.

good luck.
