Trying to pin down a little bit of info but searching Google seems to just bring up articles in the continuation cars. Plus, there are clearly some very knowledgable Jaguar followers on here.

My father doesn't often talk of the past but had the kind of lifestyle that many of us who like cars would enjoy, racing cars, flying planes, sailing yachts and owning some rather interesting bits of kit over the years, let alone growing up with his mates from the 60s racing scene etc. But trying to get him to talk is an arduous task but every so often a snippet comes out. As happened this weekend. What I would traditionally have done is go and run this by one of his old driving mates who would complete the story but sadly they are all gone now.

Long and short, the story involved an EType Lightweight that was raced a couple of times in the UK by Salvadore but then stolen. This also led into another story about Phil Challis which was quite interesting.

So I'm wondering if anyone recognises the Lightweight in question? Is it the one that is still missing or one of the known ones?

The lightweight most associated with Salvadori is registered 86PJ or 89PJ (can't quite remember and at work so can't google it easily). Metallic green and very much still around. Also known for being very original. I've got a feeling it is owned by the Hexagon chap although not 100% on that. I do know that it resides in north London so could well be.
Hope that is at least a little helpful...

Thanks. I know he raced one at Le Mans and it crashed, it's the one that was raced twice in the UK that I'm interested in. It only raced twice because it was stolen.

Yes, neither 86PJ or the Cunningham (Le Mans) car fit the bill then. Intrigued to find out about the stolen lightweight having not been aware of it before. Maybe Tony (Lowdrag) will be able to shed some light.
