Oily oily - what will mix?

Been using VR1 Racing 20W-50 since rebuild (OMG that's 15k miles ago) and nothing else. The old girl breathes heavily and topping up is a very regular thing. So regular it gets on my tits. Not that I actually have tits. Although, to be honest, I guess those ever so slightly sagging pecs that were once so magnificent could, if you were so inclined, be referred to as tits. Or man breasts...
Anyway, I've fecking digressed again, so question is, VR1 Racing 20W-50 being sometimes like rocking horse s
t, what comparable and more readily available oil can I use to top up that is an acceptable (safe) alternative? To add to the VR1..
If none of you know the answer to this then you're a moron. Like I am. Nearly three months into stopping smoking and I'm still constantly angry, and everyone I speak to is stupid. Or foreign. Same thing. There, I've done it again.

My local Euro Car Parts no longer sell this now but Opie oils do, in the new year I will probably go over to Comp Cams 15 50 fully syn full time, currently on VR1 but my stock is depleting fast due to new engine premature oil changes and fitting it to owners RV8 cars etc I was buying case quantities from ECP down to my last 7 litres now

I hate not having things like oil to hand Mine needs regular top ups, and Mat assures me that this is normal, they all use some oil, and it is good for them.
My 4 litre engine used very little, but didn't get the regular thrashings that my 5 litre gets.
Like Peter, I am on Shell Helix 10w60 Racing fully sympathetic, and it seems to be looking after the engine pretty sympathetically, especially given that I spend many happy sessions flat out on track with the engine over 90 degrees and the fans going full tilt as well. I too buy it buy the 20 litre drum kit.
As an aside, one possible solution to your (coming off fags) irritability problem (well done for quitting) is perhaps to give yourself a break and vape when the stress hits?
Erin Dawes (she to whom I am related by marriage) came off the fags and onto vaping, bought a decent i-taste vape kit for £40 from a specialist shop (the cheap vapes are terrible), went for the lowest strength liquid, 6mg nicotine, in menthol (she used to smoke menthols) and has stayed off the fags. 7 bottles for a tenner, one bottle lasts two days, so it's a tenner a fortnight, and she used to smoke 15 a day. So after the initial investment, the cost of vaping is about 15% of the cost of smoking, which means i get to spend more on the Tiv's favourite 98 octane vape. And the house and the wife both no longer smell of fags - indeed, she is a minty snog these days.

Anthony, I did the vape thing earlier this year and couldn't get on with it... Finally went cold turkey on Tuesday 7th July at roughly 22:36. And 17 seconds. Also been on painkillers with the back, the old shrapnel's been on the move again, but 2nd visit to the Osteopath (this morning) and it seems to be slowly improving. Last few months have been a classic case of 'cheer up, things could get worse', so I cheered up and they did. Anyway, really shouldn't complain, I have reasonable health, a job, and a TVR. If only I could add Scarlett Johanssen to that list

My Mrs tried the vape thing several times before we bought her some decent equipment, and lower strength fluids, which are key, and then she adapted to it well. Most of the off the shelf newsagent vapes are poor quality kit and the liquids are about three times the strength a casual smoker needs.Anthony, I did the vape thing earlier this year and couldn't get on with it...
