scirocco-noise on full lock

Hi guys i have a noise on my scirocco when turning on full lock. It is more prevalent when on full lock turning right, and less so turning left. Car is 2.0 ltr petrol with DSG gearbox, and has been perfect for 4 years or so, and regularly serviced.
Mileage is approx 36,000
I am a bit mechanically minded [i have to be, i own a TVR] so suspect drive shaft/C.V joints.What do you think?
Car drives perfect, just the noise on full lock.
Any pointers appreciated, also anyone had the driveshaft/CV. joints done and at what cost?
