Nothing to do with me Al, but nice looking 400SE on flea. Advert says a little bit of welding required but it looks lovely. Wonder what the reserve is? Is it anyone on here?

It's quite a late one, so should almost certainly be a hotwire which means less pops and bangs. Could be more reliable though. I wonder what the little welding on the front part of the chassis involves. I hope not a body off. I always think to myself, if it's a small and cheap repair, why not do it before the sale and get a decent price for it and give the buyer peace of mind. I can't deny it looks nice though.

Outriggers aside (which I wouldn't refer to as "welding") I'd be very surprised if there are any Wedges that haven't needed chassis welding at some point in their lives - unless they've not been used of course. If not, it's quite possible that the owners don't realise it's needed, and maybe not been picked up by the MOT man.
Whatever is wrong with it its still a bargain...I hope its gone to someone who is going to use it and let it get under their skin and not just fix it up and try to get a double bubble return..These cars need to retain their enthusiasts following to survive into the future...Far too many get passed on with un-fixed issues, Probably why they were not being used in the first place..They become un-loved and called horrible names...People point and laugh at them when they see them broken down....Its disgusting!...Actually my friend was in traffic on the M40 the other day and he saw a low loader going the other way with a Cerbera on its back...
..TVR's don't you just love em.....
..TVR's don't you just love em.....In the 4th year of ownership of the beloved 350SE. Looked at that one and thought,400SE love the look of both interior and bodystyle. Couldn't afford it then but promised myself my next TVR will be as well as. Sold too many good motors just to get the next one. The 350 will I don't doubt need welding one day but mot man said last year your good for a few years yet, and there is no sign of repairs so far.
