2011 Q5 Servicing at home
Discussion
Anything complicated about servicing one of these for a competent mechanic?
Not even sure it has a sump drain plug as have not looked at it yet but the 4 wheel drive system would be my main concern.
Any advice or tips would be great.
Edited to add that it is a manual transmission vehicle.

I have no personal experience with a Q5 but it shouldn't be any different to any other Audi with a longitudinally mounted engine. You will need VCDS to reset the service indicator but the rest should be fairly straight forward.
Are you changing the gearbox fluid and filter as you mention the 4WD system (all inside the gearbox)? There is a procedure for filling up the gearbox with fluid and the ZF 6HP*a needs ZF LifeGuard6 (Shell M1375.4) or equivalent.

Its not a haldex equipped car so no need for haldex oil changes, manual box doesnt need oil changes either.
I used a PELA oil extractor for the first time on my B8 A4 3.2 quattro - it sucked out the full 6.5 litres, no mess, no getting under the car and as the oil filter is at the top of the engine the whole process took 20 mins.
Air filters on these are torx screws to open up the air box and the torx screws hold in the filter.
Spark Plugs (if fitted) require the removal of the water reservoir for the rad, and the removal of the airbox - then you can get at the coil packs and plugs took me 30 mins to get at all 6 in mine.
If its a diesel then you'll save 30 mins as you wont be doing anything with them!
You can reset the oil change interval on the MMI - but to reset the service interval you need Vag-com etc
Its a doddle!

Dont think the ZF auto box was ever fitted in a standar Q5, either manual or DSG in these, may have been in the SQ5 though. Are you changing the gearbox fluid and filter as you mention the 4WD system (all inside the gearbox)?
