991 GTS or a 991.2 Carrera S ?
Discussion
Taking everything into account ie: performance and future residuals which would you go for?
The forthcoming 991.2 carrera is about 85k base price -so after adding all the usual options looking
at well over 90 grand-nearer 100 on the road.......
Although the 991 GTS is still silly money on the OPC network some of the indy Porsche specialists are
looking good value- JZM have just dropped a couple of grand off theirs-

Is the standard 991.2 carrera S worth the extra dough?

GTS is a stunning car with the aerokit , but the 991.2 is faster, has the new PCM & is cheaper, but doesn't look quite as good.
991.2.., :-)
991.2 is far from cheaper, I specced one up to the level of my GTS and it was £3k more expensive. And that was without the nice alcantara interior and bespoke exterior bits. A cooking Carrera will also always loose more money than a GTS.991.2.., :-)
it's a matter of what you want.......Turbo or N/A.....a GTS will be the last of the 3.8 N/A engine cars and if you can find one with a manual gearbox a decade down the line will be a sort after car.....the new 3.0 ltr Turbo although faster will be just an ordinary run of the mill (if there is such a thing) 911 Carrera and nothing special as far as 911 Porsches go....all in my opinion of course (do I have to put this statement after every post) BTW the JZM GTS looks purposeful in Silver doesn't it

I've just sold my 991 GTS, which had an aerokit, and I loved it. Although I would be temped with the new 991.2 Carerra S, it'll be faster, and I do like sampling the latest tech...!The forthcoming 991.2 carrera is about 85k base price -so after adding all the usual options looking

It isn't much point speccing a 991.2 to be a GTS, may as well get a GTS. DMC2 said:

It isn't much point speccing a 991.2 to be a GTS, may as well get a GTS. I've done 9000 miles in my GTS which I got in March. 2wd manual. It's a MUCH better car than I expected. I have told my OPC that I want a new one, built as late as possible, to be registered next March, that way I will have a lovely NA 3.8 for the next couple of years in stead of a c2s turbo. It might be brilliant, who knows. I'm sure it won't be crap. But my GTS is a superb fast road car.
As I don't really see the 911 as a true fun sports car, I would go turbo and get the new one, it will be a nicer drive day to day for sure.
Do people really go out just for a drive in a 991 at the week ends ?
week ends cars for me have to be 2 seated way more fun sports cars and roof less.

nice daily, but it would not get me out of bed at 9am on a Sunday Morning just to go drive it when I have been driving it all week.Very nice car to drive day to day though.
Slight shame that all your recent posts have to knock other peoples choices (see your "correcting a post" from sports car to "GT" for another 991 GTS post). Is that a chip, or the whole bag? (I speak as someone who owned and highly rates the Cayman, but get over yourself. You're coming across as a tit.
