Only just started to 'Discover' them recently. Went to see the bootlegs the other month and they were fantastic.
The question is, whats your favourite track?
Gotta be a Day in the life for me.
(on an aside, anyone know of any songs smiliar to Helter Skelter in terms of mad rockyness, as I dont have their entire back catalogue to hand lol)

My favourite's always been Strawberry Fields, generally considered to be the first pop song with a specific video made for it (as opposed to a recording of the band playing it).
Other than that I'd say my favourites are Help!, A Hard Day's Night and I Feel Fine - all good driving tracks for that 'big GT, wood-rimmed wheel, gloves, slim Panatella, Alpine roads' feel, even if you're in Derbyshire.

I 'discovered' the Beatles when the McDonald book came out in the mid 90's; prior to that I was only au fait with my dad's red and blue compilations.
Initially I was amazed at how dark, playful and 'simple' they were; as McCartney said, they were a good rock n roll band. They did nearly everything well, without being over the top.
The White Album was high on my wish list and it knocked me for six. Even though i had dabbled with Cream, Floyd and Zappa, I couldn't believe anything so wayward and unique was considered 'rock'.
In hindsight, it seems mannered and calculated almost contrived. However the highlights that still jaunt are 'Long Long Long' and 'Julia'.
Their later single (though technically double A sides),Paperback Writer and Get Back remain, to me, the point at which there's nowhere to look but down.
