Hi Guys,

Still trying to make up my mind about tyres.

Just can't stretch to Advans - too much else to fork out for on the Elise at the mo'.

I'm fairly sure I'll go for Toyo Proxy's. Seem good value for money.

However, the T1-S does seem to get the odd bad review, due to their soft side walls IIRC. "makes the rear seem floaty" and "felt like they were flat" are some of the comments I've heard. Seems like this is the last thing you'd want on an Elise and does put me off them somewhat!

I understand the T1-R is an improvement - ie firmer side walls. Does anybody run these tyres?

Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

If not, I'll just have to keep saving - but it's getting pretty desparate!

I run them and they are good value for money but don't expect them to match up to a Yoko. Next tire change I will be paying the extra and going back to Yokos (AO39).

I bought them on purpose because I live in Scotland.

The T1-R's have excellent water displacing qualities and I have discovered are a bit more progressive to slide than the 39's.
39's ahve better dry grip, but as a wet road tyre I'd say they're excellent.

I settled on these for road and A048's for dry or track.
Having said that, my next track set is going to be Kumhos, just to try.

Does that mean they are particularly suited to Scottish roads or are you just tight?
