I was getting low on fuel and saw a nice blue Chimp in Shell station so I pulled in for a quick chat. The guy was about to sell his car and as we were talking, a lovely Griff pulled in to fill up!

There was a pistonheads sticker in the rear window and the young lady driver said her husband (apache) was always on the site.

Pete - I owned a Merc 450SLC for 3 years (and loved it), and saw were asking about SLs. Check out www.mercedesmailinglist.com for an insight into SL ownership - or mail me direct

I left Duxford a bit low on fuel so thought I'd pop into that handy garage opposite the entrance. Pulled up next to the pump, got out, opened boot, went to pump, stuck nozzle in filler... nothing. Another TVR next to me also gets nothing. After a while a bloke opens the front door (of the garage) and says 'Sorry, we're closed'. And this at 2 mins to 8pm! But there's another one just up the road he says. Ho hum, get back in car and set off to find it. Pulled up next to the pump, got out, opened boot, went to pump, stuck nozzle in filler... The other TVR pulls in as well. After a while a bloke appears and says 'Sorry, we're closed'. But there's another one just up the road he says....

Eventually get to BP and fill up. Thank god one garage in Cambidgeshire is open after 8pm!

Ah you see that everything shuts at around 8:00PM in Cambs. Customer service? Pahh. For a county full of numpties, they are all tucked up in bed by 9:00PM so there is no need to serve petrol at that time...

Apart from the normal people who might be passing...

Cheers,

Paul

I think there are enough Cambridge TVR owners now to do a meet now and then, any takers?....White Lion at Barton has a useful sized carpark/beergarden......for an end of week pint

Barton is just off jct 12 on the M11, so access is good, grub fair, lager= Stella, roomy car park and good beer garden. I'm going tonight between 5.30 and 6.00 see you there, it's on the right opposite the Texaco garage......let's make it a place to meet if anyone is at a loose end, I think it would be nice to do as a sort of regular thing on a friday. Simon from Offord will be an attendee with his new Cerbie
