Can anybody please recommend somewhere to get insurance on a Chimaera? Best quote so for was £1069, from Privilege.

Got mine from Tesco, at £435, but Mannings are very good as well. Do a search of the TVR forums to get there contact details.

Is it a second car?

Mine is and is with Classic Line who advertise in TVR Car Club mag. Cost me about £500 with no no-claims bonus as I have to use that on my every day car.

I recently started looking for quotes for insurance, Tesco's came in around £460, but Adrian Flux quoted £401 so give them a try. Best of luck

Just got a quote from Nationwide - yep the building society - £567. It was £60 cheaper as I named the wife on the policy !!!!

Renewed my chim insurance this morning.

A Manning Tel: [phone] gave me best quote by far. And excellent service.

93 4.0 Chim on a classic policy (restricted to 5000 miles)
Premium under £400.00, and includes track day cover
(although excess goes up on track days to £800)
okay, so I am a sensible over 40 year old with a clean licence, full ncb, with unblemished experience of performance vehicles... it all adds up, apparently.

Oh... but wife can't drive it anymore, unless she goes on a high performance driving course. Her Pug 206 1.1 dosn't count apparently.

Try www.autotrader.co.uk/CARS/motoring/ins/insurance-centre.jsp - usually gives some indication of who might be cheapest for very little effort.
