Hi there
I've just bought an R8 gt spyder. On looking into the engine bay there's loads of dust and muck on there. Access is terrible, you can hardly even see the v10! I wondered of anyone new of how best to clean it out without using a hose??
Cheers
Dave

Car like that i'd prob take it too a specialist detailer.

Shouldn't be much just for engine bay. Why is it so dirty, does it have an oil leak somewhere?

You're probably right. It did put me off a bit when I looked at it. It looks like really fine brown dust, maybe a farm track or something??
I'll try and find a decent detailer locally in Edinburgh
Cheers

As in air compressor. It's dry. Only places it should totally refuse to budge is where something is leaking.

Sounds like a plan. Can you just use a diy/screw fix one? Probs best done outside!

Um, why? Why pay someone else to clean something which takes absolutely no skill

same as any other car. Lift the bonnet. If you have snow foam, use it. Use APC, brushes and microfibers. Rinse it off.
Apply a dressing, such as AS Finish or Aerospace 303.
Dab dry after about 3 hours in the sun.

Engine bays are completely fine to get wet.
as long as it's not a 1950s austin healey or somethiing else really old you are fine

I did think about using microfiber clothes and cleaner, I did that with my f430. The problem is the r8 spyder has a very small rear bonnet and you just can reach in easy, it looks terrible to get access too. Maybe blowing is the way to go...

Won't blow anything.Needs cleaning. use brushes long reach. You will be fine. You can lean on the bodywork as long as you have no buttons or zippers or anything. Tracky bottoms and comfy hoody is great for this kind of stuff.
