Pull the horn off the 968 one & you'll see that the wheel is simply held in by a single bolt. Only other bit to remember is to connect the fly-lead for the horn.
Very simple job - but that new wheel is _so_ much nicer than the original. There may be a torque setting that you should tighten to - can't remember off the top of my head.

With the wheels straight mark the top of the splined shaft (scratch or dab of paint) before removing the old steering wheel - makes lining up the new one easier.

Just done the change myself - Porsche RS one in my case. You're right about the improvement - funny how such a small thing can make such a big difference!

[pedant on]steering wheel. not stearing.[/pedant].

Do you have any photos of the new wheel? I always thought the 924/944 ones looked ... horrible maybe I can persuade my dad into the wisdom of changing the one in his s2 cabriolet.

Looks good. Was this style made in the standard Burgundy colour?

These were the cheapest supllier I found for the Porsche RS Technik wheel (one with the aluminium ring in the centre). It is a very nice wheel made by Momo for Porsche.
