Any ideas people.My 04 cv8 is being a pain.

when cold ie 1st time in a morning. the car seems to not want to start.

1st turn (4-5 seconds) turns over but no fire.

Next 2 turns ,turns and tries to catch ,may do on no3 turn over.

sometimes takes the 4th turn to catch and settle nicely.

sounds like ignition if I had to guess. fuel seems to be there, just misfiring.
Had the diagnostics on and nothing shows , new plugs and leads and intake elbow recently. nothing made a difference to this issue.

car runs perfect once running.

when warm or hot its perfect, any ideas where to look next guys .

Have you changed the battery recently? as some cases where guys have changed the battery these problems have come up when they didn't have the problem before

Battery was changed.. probably 6-8 months ago. Cant remember if this problem started just after that or not.
Any way to sort it out if it is that.

about 3 months ago had new plugs and leads. that made no difference to it.

Mate of mine who bought my old Monaro, he went on holiday last year and on return the battery was totally flat and fitted a new one, he also has problems with starting and when coming to a junction to stop it will cut out, he leaves the air con switched on which increases the revs enough to stop it cutting out.

Am I destined to have this issue forever...??

or is the software an issue from being powered down?

I seem to recall that ls1 motors have to relearn idle control or something like that after the battery is disconnected for a length of time and you have to follow a procedure when you first restart the engine. Haven't a clue what it is but I would talk to the fish

right small update

Ive had a diadnostics done and a live read done.

no faults or issues show up. then I started it up and it started fine.
the only difference was that the ignition was turned on for a minute or so before starting.

the last few weeks ive got into the car, turned to pos2 ,waited 10 seconds and then started
and its started 1st time ,every time, idled fine and not run rough.odd
