What electric guitar for 8 year old?

It's my sons birthday soon and he would like an electric guitar. I know we need a 3/4 size but that's as much as I know.

Anyone got any recommendations?

PS We already have an amp.

Hmm, my son is 8 and plays his Pacifica 112 just fine - i think weight could be more of an issue so I'd avoid a Les Paultype but let have him have a go of a stratshape guitar and see how he gets on. My son was just over 8 when we bought him the Yamaha and he's average height I guess.

My 9yr old daughter also has a Pacifica 112 and gets on fine with it. Its also regarded as one of the best starter electrics you can buy.

I have to say, I play it quite a lot too! It's an awesome guitar, when you consider they're only about £150 it's quite incredible really.
