I've got a yellow message on my 2012 FFRR 4.4tdv8 saying DPF full. Looking at the handbook the car needs a run to sort it (odd since it often does 500+ miles a week on the motorway although not for the last couple of weeks), However I've seen some comment on the internet where people are saying that the car will go into restricted performance mode shortly after this error message pops up. Anyone had this and able to comment?

Take it for a blast, it doesn't take long for the DPF to fill up to get to the yellow warning. If you carry on driving at low speed/urban (as I assume you have been doing for the past 2 weeks) it will go red pretty soon and into limp mode which isn't what you want.

If it goes red, it's a main dealer job to get reset...

...take it for a motorway run NOW, while you have the chance.

I had this a couple of weeks ago, also a 2012 4.4.

Did a 20 minute motorway run using command shift to keep it in 6th gear at 70mph at about 2500/3000RPM and cleared it no problem. You need the higher revs to burn it off fully and clear the DPF. Motorway miles at 1200rpm don't help to clear it.
