Ducking windows

Mine are ste if not very ste
Plan to pull the meconisom out any one done it


I have to pull the glass up as you use the switch
Oil / lubeing the runners dose nowt to there performance

The only thing I can think of is the worm or
Gear box is sezeing up
Any ideas chaps

Disconnect the motor and try raising/lowering them by hand. Mine were solid between the 2 side runners, a slight increase in spacing and they move up/down a lot quicker. The motor was working its hardest but the grip of the runners was to much.

Mine are timed by sundial too, which is tricky in winter
I read that Chimaera Pages article last night too (nuffink on the telly), and it looks like a runner, so to speak.

Before spending time running new cables make sure that the runners are clean.
Mine went form not going up to up and down in 12 ish seconds after cleaning.

The Chim pages suggest greasing the worm gear with copper grease. But clearly stuff or misaligned runners would be a problem too. Ditto inadequate wiring.

Like wise with the chim pages and don't fancy fannying around with more wires
I have just about finished my manifold project so the windows are the next thing on the list

Don't lube the runners, it attracts more dirt and st and is a short term fix.

Check the runners actually have felt on them and have not worn through to the rubbers. Runners are available from woolies.

I found that mine were sluggish to start with but after a summer of regular use, they are now pretty good

I still have to address my passenger side window that's stopped working, I keep avoiding it but this thread,,,,

I'll get around to it sometime this winter ???

Hey those pics are really Helpfull, as I seem to have no confidence to pull mine apart this will give me some hope

This will help
The widow is fixed with 2 bolts


Get it 1/2 way and there easy to get to then pull the window out though the top of the door
Then 2 more bolts fix the rest to the door

Top one

Bottom one
The hole lot comes out easy
The rest you can do one the bench
A 12v battery is handy to power it up and down

I think my rubbers are fked
