So let's get back to basics on this, what are the best mods you have made to your Chim/Griff not including the 'pub-talk chuckaloadofmoneyatsomeone so I can lift the bonnet even though I can't drive' brigade!

Stuff you have done, worked out, engineered, played with etc that really made a difference to your car/driving.

Corner-weighting etc?

The 4 pot calipers on my Chim were far and away better than the standard - with the big discs as well.

Braided hoses, Magnecor leads, but the best ever upgrade was My Cerbera

Did you put the brakes on Rich? If so were they the Wilwood items?

As for the Cerbera, don't need one - no kids I can still leed the single life mate!

FSE rising rate fuel pressure regulator on the 350i makes a real difference to throttle response. Trying hard to keep the SEAC standard though.

Even tho' I've just spent a large amount fixing the engine & added a new 218 cam in the process, the best 'mod' so far was simply getting the geometry sorted.....hoontastic!

Cheap options:
1) Braided hoses - better pedal feel.

Expensive options:
1) Nitrons - a thumbs up for calming the car down on crappy surfaces, haven't compared to AVOs, but I do rate the Nitrons.

2) Engine rework by Austec and Mark Adams - big injectors, tornado chip, Bosch AFM, ACT carbon trumpet base and smooth hoses giving more power and torque across the board and an engine that now pulls right through to 6k. Quite expensive, but a noticeable change in performance with what must be a bit of a tired engine - 61k miles.

No mate, they were fitted by Peninsula before I got it. They were Wilwood, and 285mm discs drilled and groved. The rears were also drilled and grooved - standard discs. Dunno if the rears made any difference being drilled and grooved, but they matched the fronts nicely. Braided hoses are a must too.

On my SEAC : Braided hoses & Green Stuff pads, magnecor leads, 404 mechanical cam, alloy inlet trumpets & Bosche air flow meter. And not forgetting Mr Adams magic.

Next : open heart surgery on the centre box .. need more noise

Would put the TVR Power Taraka in -- at the surrey RR day it showed the best results (well scored the highest numbers) of the moded cars. Though brakes are a key upgrade as well.

Poly bushes on the anti-roll bar, got rid of a load of friction in the suspension and allowed me another 15Mph down my favourite blast / road

Get the brakes to work as well as they can - upgrade discs/pads/hoses/fluid. Don't need 4 pots IMHO but I have no doubt they are an improvement.

Handling is where I think you get the most for your money - mainly as you're using it all of the time. Geometry set up is a start. Mine will have hard poly bushes front and rear, poly ARB bushes F & R, ARB droplinks changed to rose-jointed links F & R, Nitrons and full geo' and corner weighting set up within the next few weeks. Should be tighter than a tight thing and huge fun. Can't wait

Of course, all of the above won't help you drive any where near as fast as someone who knows how to drive in a completely bog standard car...
