Hello everybody!

I recently entered the world of Air Cooled Porsche with a 1990 targa C2. Absolutely raw!!

Just had it serviced inc the tappets & gearbox oil topped up. Runs like a dream except an issue gear selection.

once i've been driving for around an hour it becomes difficult to select 2nd and impossible to select first or reverse. Once I switch the engine off it reverts back to normal.

A brief history of this car... 2005 full engine rebuild assuming a new clutch was installed. between then and now it has racked up a mere 3000 miles.

Look forward to any help...

Thanks

Best,

Z

Get the garage to bleed the clutch slave cylinder. All will be fine then.

It's the rubber hose to the slave cylinder. Gets soft when hot. Been there and done it

does this still count when the problem is solved once the engine is off?

Yes. When the engine's not turning you can select gears without depressing the clutch at all.
