looking to get a E400 coupe on lease - first time leaser
Discussion
Hi guys
I'm thinking about getting a E400 coupe on lease.
I have no idea about taking cars on a lease, as have always opted to buy out right.
Can someone let me know how it all works? As far as I know, you pay an initial deposit, then you pay a monthly fee, but i'm not too sure on how it works at the end. Do you keep the car? Return it? Have to buy it out?
Also recommendations for leaeses on E400 coupes would be ideal.

I've always leased anything that depreciates (cars, vans) and if you change cars every 2-3 years I don't think you can drive a car cheaper. My last smoker was a new E220 Estate costing £300.99 a month plus vat. After three years, I went round it, sorted out the stone chips & wheels, gave it back, no charge. I then replaced it on a two year deal for an E250AMG Estate with Nav etc, for less; £260 + vat a month on a 9+23 deal. Total cost over two years, £8320+ vat. To me, your pretty much paying the depreciation but keeping your capital in the bank.
Funnily enough, the only time I've had a hard time giving a car back was on a PCP with an A6 3.0 TDI Quattro. The car was prepared for sale, under the mileage & mint, and they wanted me to pay them £1000 for bits & bobs. They actually backed down in the end.
Just my experience, but I have now leased a couple of pick ups, and four cars, and can't see the benefit of ownership. I know exactly what the car is going to cost, just give it back at the end, and move on. Just a note, timing is everything with leasing. I have done some nuts deals before now. You need to look at the leasing sites every day, and be prepared to do it there & then to get the best deal.
Good luck.
