So on my drive today I saw a small car that was fully covered in somesort of green material which made it look like grass (I don't mean paint - I mean actual material - almost like astro turf) - I think it was somesort of promotional car as it had printed wording on the window.

Now I was going round a large roundabout and this car was on my left and waiting to come on... the scenery behind the car was tall bushes.... you can see where this is going can't you..?

So I only saw it was actually a car at the last second because the wheels stood out and the small window also did - but when you are driving the car really did not stand out that much against the green background. In my case the car was stationary was waiting to join the roundabout behind me.

Anyway he got behind me and we drove up the road which has tall bushes/greenery on the side and I could see that at certain points when looking at my rearview the car really did blend in with the background.

Now I am not a drama queen but I can see how in certain circumstances the car could end up in an accident if someone doesn't see it til the last minute. Could the driver of the car be liable though for driving a camouflaged car?!?!

I would like to think he couldn't be held liable for it. It's like holding someone liable for an accident for driving a black car at night.

Where abouts. I know a bloke who has a smart car (I think) covered in fake grass. He owns a company that supplies and installs it. Good advertising.

There's some sort of small car completely covered in artificial grass which is usually parked up on the seafront at Worthing. Has been knocking around for years - probably due for a mow...

This car was more bushy/leafy that grassy - my descp probably wasn't the best - cannot remember what the wording was but it wasn;t to do with landscaping i dont think. it didnt look like the grassy cars linked to.

If they didn't have lights on as well....

I find it odd in court that if you have an accident and ride a bike they will ask if you were wearing hi-viz or not.

There was a guy near me who had a car covered in real grass. It was raining and some of the soil ran down the window and he could not see properly and drove into people on the pavement. In court he was charged with mowing people down and can remember he had quite a large salary based fine as he was a turf accountant.
