Following on from the more mobile cameras thread...more fixed cameras on the way by the look of things.

What's going to happen when we eventually have cameras on every conceivable section of road and the deaths still happen ?

sake, try telling people that speed cameras prevent death in the same way that smoke detectors put fires out.

The safest roads in Europe, and its still not good enough....

"Motorists face the prospect of thousands more speed cameras after rules governing the use of these devices were relaxed"!!!!

The quotes in this article are so breathtaking in their stupidity, that they transcend mere mortal idiocy, and have moved into the realms of pretanatural ridiculousness.

Consider On Epping New Road, in Essex, three people have been killed and one person seriously injured in four separate crashes on a one-kilometre stretch of the road in less than two years, meaning that it easily meets the casualty criterion. But cameras cannot be installed because only 10 per cent of drivers break the limit.

Well then what difference is putting a speed camera there going to make? Was speed the cuase of the accidents? It really makes you want to go and lie down in the middle of the fast lane of the M25. How the bloody hell are they getting away with it? B Liar has so much to answer for.

i.e. the cameras wouldn't pay for themselves .
