Any recommendations for an app or website that I can take credit card payments from customers?

Prefer one that means others can also have the app and receive payments into one account.

Thanks.

I've used Sumup for about 5 months with no problems.

Maybe 20 payments a week initially.

This is something i have also been looking in to recently.

We simply need for some of our customers to be able to phone the office to make a payment.

Looked at Stripe recently and Sumup which seems to have the added benefit of being able to take payment using one of their machines when with the customer in person.

Are these as competitive and a comparable to say Worldpay with its monthly fee etc?

You can't take payments over the phone with Sumup.
You need a cheap tablet with Bluetooth (or your phone) and the card reader which is about £50. There are no monthly charges. They deduct 1.95% from each transaction and pay the rest into your bank account a few days later.
The only problem I have with it is that payment reports have a transaction numbers but not the name of the payer.

https://www.worldpayzinc.com/

Also, we've taken to using PayPal with the app and bluetooth chip-and-pin reader for days at events

What did you go for in the end?

Right, finally(!), I've gone with Worldpay Zinc. You get a payment device to link to your phone (via an app) for £40.

Best bit is that since I do get requests to take card payments over the phone, I don't even need to have the device or use my phone/app - I can take payments via their website on my PC or even email out a link to a secure site for taking card payments.

Handy.
