dry sump in pan filter

Hey all,

Quick question for you all. I have a Cosworth BDD dry sump engine going into my Europa. Should I install a wire mesh inside the sump pan to protect the suction side of the dry sump pump?

I've never seen it in any other ford based dry sump engines, formula ford, formula atlantic (where my engine came from, without the mesh). But, as this is gonna be a semi street driven engine, I want to protect it as much as possible. Is it worth the trouble??

The dry sump on my rover v8 has a mesh filter in the sump where each of the scavenger pipes connect to it.
