Best mobile phone

I need a new mobile, would like video capability, decent photo ability would be a very big bonus, have no bloody idea what to get. I'd like pay as you go (am at my desk 12 hours every day and have phones coming out my ears, only use the mobile when out at night, so saving by not getting a £20/month contract would be nice)

Does anyone know of a good independant reviews site with the latest models features, explanations of features and prices? Dealer sites never have enough info and are always biased.

There's a new Sony k700?? that has a very large screen and a very good camera in it.

For a decent PAYG phone you are looking at over £200, well worth getting a contract for £20p/m and a free phone, not forgetting inclusive minutes and texts.

Motorola V3. Best phoneI have ever had. Available for <£250 on ebay sim free. O2 sim cards are plentiful and free in most cases

Re: 6230, I've got one of these and a courier mate of mine, said he does swaps on these more than any other phone. He said it seems to be the grey ones rather than the black ones that are the problem.

Personally I'm quite happy with the phone.

The 6230 is decent enough, screen is on the small side.
Older ones had a few bugs but later firmware has fixed and improved the phones usability.

I'll have a look in a minute. Almost ordered the S700i (cant bloody believe Im considering it, its £370... keep telling myself if I go for better I wont buy another one for longer)... not into email, live video... seems to be the best camera phone I can find.

Colleague of mine has a 6230. Shoved a 1Gb MMC card in it and can now load up an entire DVD plus large MP3 collection. IMO a really useful multi-purpose device!

I have the SE V800 which is a 3G phone. It is great even without using the 3G capability. It has a 1.3 megapixel camera which isn't too bad.

I have a 6230, but the biggest MMC it can recognise is 128mb, maybe they have modified it recently to 'see' larger cards. However with 128mb it's still quite useful as an MP3 player and it's an excellent all-round phone, especially when combined with the 610 Bluetooth carphone kit which is a marvellous piece of kit.

With the latest firmware the 6230 can support up to a 1 Gig MMC (depends on the make of the card though).

Some manufacturers are not compatible...kodak being one of them IIRC.

If your phone is still under the years warranty you can get it updated FOC at a NOKIA service center.
